On 14-15 October 2025, the Miguel Hernández University (UMH) in Spain hosted the kick-off meeting of the European project CLEAR-PC (Cancer Literacy and Education Resources for Prostate Care), funded by the EU4Health Programme of the European Commission.
Led by Professor Blanca Lumbreras from the Department of Public Health, History of Science and Gynaecology and the Global Health Research Group at the UMH, CLEAR-PC brings together experts from Spain, Portugal, Croatia, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Cyprus. The project aims to improve health literacy and shared decision-making in prostate cancer prevention and care among men at risk, patients, healthcare professionals, and policymakers.
The meeting marked the official launch of the project and provided an opportunity to align objectives, define roles, and plan next steps. Representatives from all partner institutions attended, along with Ioanna Avgerinou, Project Officer at the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA).
Running until 2028, CLEAR-PC will develop and implement a strategy to strengthen prostate cancer literacy and support informed decision-making across Europe.
